Why is Bromley Healthcare running my local service?
Bromley Healthcare was established on 1 April 2011 to provide out-of-hospital health services in Bromley. We now also care for people in Bexley, Greenwich and Lewisham and our reach continues to grow. We are an independent community interest company that has been awarded the contract by local healthcare commissioners to deliver community healthcare services to the communities they serve. We’re a community interest company formed of over 1,000 people delivering high-quality NHS services. Our ethos and unique approach has contributed to our success. We believe in putting clinicians in the driving seat and empowering front-line staff to make decisions about how services should be run. This has made us patient-focused and efficient, taking the best that the NHS has to offer, removing some of the bureaucracy and focusing on quality healthcare. We provide services in clinics, hospitals, community settings, nursing homes and other many other places. You can find out more about us by exploring our website: bromleyhealthcare.org.uk.
What services does Bromley Healthcare provide?
Bromley Healthcare is a community health care provider, providing a wide range of services to people of all ages. From health visiting to district nursing, school nurses to specialist nurses, our nursing services help new parents to care for new born children and older people to continue living at home through care and support. In addition to this broad range of nursing services we also have a wide range of therapy services for adults and children. This includes speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Our specialist services focus on those living with specific conditions such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and diabetes.
Yes. Bromley Healthcare provides Public Health and NHS services which are free at the point of use to patients, on behalf of the local commissioners that have awarded us the contract to provide services to the communities they serve.
We are not a private health company but a community interest company, owned by our staff. As a social enterprise we are driven by what is best for our patients and staff, not profit. Any surplus income we earn is invested back into the communities we work in or reinvested in improving the service we provide to our patients
